Jessica

Jessica has experience working as both an elementary and middle school teacher, and currently works as a substitute teacher in Calgary. Her experience with younger children began as a teen volunteer at First Alliance Church’s Discoveryland and continued through assisting with children’s ministry at Calgary Korean Baptist Church, leading summer camps at Mount Royal University, and facilitating field trips at Heritage Park.

Jessica’s teaching approach combines structured learning with meaningful, real-world connections. She enjoys helping children explore cultural, historical, and biblical perspectives while making literacy, numeracy, and well-being engaging and accessible. Through meaningful learning experiences, she hopes to encourage curiosity, confidence, and growth. She especially loves a good read-aloud!

In her free time, Jessica enjoys listening to Korean music as she learns the Korean language and acting on stage at the Canmore Opera House at Heritage Park. She is also involved in healthcare research and patient advocacy. When it’s time to relax, she enjoys dim sum and a good cup of tea.
